ORANGE COUNTY, CA – Today Senator Janet Nguyen announced receiving the endorsement of the Lincoln Club of Orange County in her campaign for Supervisor. The announcement comes just days after Senator Nguyen announced her campaign. The Lincoln Club of Orange County is
one of the most influential organizations in all of Southern California.
“Supporting Senator Janet Nguyen early in this election was an easy decision for our members. Janet is the best choice for Supervisor,” said Lincoln Club President Teresa Hernandez. “Janet Nguyen has a long-standing record from City Council all the way to the State Senate of fighting for the issues that are important to Orange County’s voters and that’s why she has been routinely reelected and has our full support.”
The Lincoln Club of Orange County is one of the oldest, most influential membership organizations in the State of California. Their endorsement is highly coveted among political candidates from the local level to the President of the United States. Their past members included notable names as President Richard Nixon and John Wayne and are usually visited by Presidential candidates searching for California support.
About Janet Nguyen
Born in Saigon, Vietnamese Senator Janet Nguyen and her family escaped communism on a small wooden 10-meter boat sailing across the South East Asia Sea in search of freedom. After passing through numerous refugee camps, Janet and her family arrived in California in 1981.
She is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine. She has lived in the district for over 30 years and currently resides in Huntington Beach with her husband Tom and two sons.
Janet Nguyen was overwhelmingly elected to the State Senate in 2022. She is the first Vietnamese-American elected to the State Senate in the nation, was the first female Supervisor to represent the First District, the first Vietnamese-American to serve on the Board of Supervisors as the youngest Supervisor elected in Orange County history.
Additionally, Janet is a small-business owner, a former State Assemblymember, former Orange County Supervisor and former Garden Grover City Councilmember. She is the former Vice-President of Government and Public Affairs for a local Chamber of Commerce.
