Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC Endorses Janet Nguyen for Orange County Supervisor

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA --Today, the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC (HJTA PAC) announced their endorsement of Senator Janet Nguyen’s campaign for Orange County Supervisor, District 1.

Jon Coupal, Chairman of the HJTA PAC wrote, "We appreciate Janet Nguyen’s strong and constant support for Proposition 13 and her excellent service to taxpayers.”

“I am very grateful to be endorsed by the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC, California’s leading pro-taxpayer organization,” said Senator Janet Nguyen. “Protecting Prop. 13 and the rights of taxpayers has always been a foundation of my platform as a public servant and will continue to be on the Board of Supervisors.” 

One of the most noteworthy endorsements among political candidates in California, the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC is widely considered the standard of which candidates are judged on their tax protection values.

The HJTA PAC endorsement is the latest key endorsement for Janet Nguyen's campaign. Previous announced supporters include The Lincoln Club of Orange County, Orange County New Majority, Young Republicans of Orange County and every Republican Legislator representing Orange County.

About Janet Nguyen

Born in Saigon, Senator Janet Nguyen and her family escaped communism on a small wooden 10-meter boat sailing across the South East Asia Sea in search of freedom. After passing through numerous refugee camps, Janet and her family arrived in California in 1981. Janet Nguyen was overwhelmingly elected to the State Senate in 2022. She is known for her groundbreaking accomplishments, including being the first Vietnamese-American elected to the State Senate in the nation, was the first female Supervisor to represent the First District, the first Vietnamese-American to serve on the Board of Supervisors in the nation and the youngest Supervisor elected in Orange County history. Additionally, Janet is a small-business owner and former Vice-President of Government and Public Affairs for a local Chamber of Commerce. She is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine. Janet has lived in the district for over 30 years and currently resides in Huntington Beach with her husband Tom and two sons.
