Councilmembers from Garden Grove and Fountain Valley endorse Senator Janet Nguyen for Supervisor

Huntington Beach, CA - - Today, City Councilmembers from Fountain Valley and Garden Grove endorsed Senator Janet Nguyen for Supervisor, extending the strong momentum her campaign has shown since she announced her candidacy one week ago.

Endorsing Janet Nguyen from Fountain Valley are City Councilmembers Jim Cunneen, Patrick Harper and Ted Bui and from Garden Grove are City Councilmembers Stephanie Klopfenstein, Cindy Tran and former Councilmember Phat Bui.

“We need Janet Nguyen in this race and on the Board of Supervisors,” said Councilman Jim Cunneen." She has proven she can win tough seats and once she wins, she will provide outstanding conservative leadership.”

Garden Grove Councilmember Stephanie Klopfenstein added: "Sacramento has proven to be incapable of fixing what's wrong in California and the super-majority in the Legislature is not interested in our problems here in Orange County. We need our best, brightest and most experienced problem-solvers working right here at home. That's why I urged Senator Janet Nguyen to run for Supervisor."

The endorsements today follow the recent endorsements from the influential Lincoln Club of Orange County and from Senator Kelly Seyarto, Assemblyman Phil Chen, Assemblywoman Diane Dixon, Assemblywoman Laurie Davies, Assemblywoman Katie Sanchez, former Assembly Republican Leader Scott Baugh and former Senate Republican Leader Pat Bates.

The First Supervisorial District has a +2.5% Republican registration edge. In her 2022 Senate campaign, Janet won inside the First District by a margin of 56% to 41%.

Janet Nguyen was overwhelmingly elected to the State Senate in 2022. Janet is a small-business owner, a former State Assemblymember, former Orange County Supervisor, and former Garden Grove City Councilmember. She is the former Vice-President of Government and Public Affairs for a local Chamber of Commerce.

Born in Saigon, Vietnam, Senator Janet Nguyen and her family escaped communism on a small wooden 10-meter boat sailing across the South East Asia Sea in search of freedom. After passing through numerous refugee camps, Janet and her family arrived in California in 1981. She is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine. She has lived in the district for over 30 years and currently resides in Huntington Beach with her husband, Tom, and two sons.
