Janet Nguyen Receives Major Endorsement of The New Majority of Orange County

Huntington Beach, CA - - After interviewing the candidates, the GOP mega-donor group The New Majority has unanimously endorsed Janet Nguyen for Orange County Supervisor. Senator Janet Nguyen has now received endorsements from both major GOP donor groups in Orange County, having previously announced support from the Lincoln Club.

 

“Senator Nguyen has represented Orange County with distinction in Sacramento as both State Senator and Assembly Member, and at the local level as County Supervisor and City Council Member, said Orange County New Majority Chairwoman Lucy Rawlins.

 

“At every level of government, Senator Nguyen has broken down barriers and been widely recognized for her leadership and for championing commonsense policies that promote freedom, safety and economic growth for all. Senator Nguyen is a gem in our community and the right person to represent the people of the First District,” Rawlins concluded.

Janet Nguyen and challenger Van Tran were both interviewed by the New Majority Executive Committee in person on August 1st. A third candidate, Kimberly Ho, canceled her interview. After hearing from the candidates, Janet Nguyen received the unanimous recommendation by the executive committee and unanimous endorsement from the New Majority Board of Directors. 


Janet Nguyen starts the Supervisorial campaign with a huge lead in name ID and cash on hand, support of every key Republican donor group, support of nearly every GOP Legislator in Orange County, and support of local elected officials within the Supervisorial District. The First Supervisorial District has a +2.5% Republican registration edge. In her 2022 Senate campaign, Janet won inside the First District by a margin of 56% to 41%. Janet Nguyen was overwhelmingly elected to the State Senate in 2022 which includes the entire First District.


Janet is a small-business owner, a former State Assemblymember, former Orange County Supervisor, and former Garden Grove City Councilmember. She is the former Vice-President of Government and Public Affairs for a local Chamber of Commerce. She has lived in the district for over 30 years. She currently reside in Huntington Beach with her husband, Tom, and two sons. 


Janet Nguyen has been named Legislator of the Year by the American Legion, the Association of the United States Army and the Vietnam Veterans of America. She was named “Champion of Manufacturing” by the California Manufacturers and Technology Association and “Elected Official of the Year” by the American Council of Engineering Companies for her work to protect jobs. Janet Nguyen received top ratings from California’s leading taxpayer groups and small business organizations, including the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association and California Taxpayers Association.
